Hey there, I'm Julie.
51yo mom of 2 teens in semi-rural NC.
Grew up in South Jersey and moved to NC in 1995.
I've got 2 dingaling dogs and a Not Our Cat who has decided that he owns our property.
I'm autistic, as are our kids, and we all have ADHD.
Nonbinary. Exhausted due to chronic pain. Still find joy in things.
Also when my stomach is upset I eat hot peppers.
Nice to be here!
Thanks!!
@Shelter Hi Julie!!
@Shelter Welcome! Pull up a chair and stay a while!👋
Thanks!
@Shelter 🙏 Pleasure is mine!
@Shelter Hi, welcome! Also autistic, also in NC, a bit older than you.
Omg I just laughed so hard at your header image 🤣
@Shelter OMG you're the first person who's gotten it lol
DORT NARINA!
🤣🤣🤣
@Shelter Love the intro!
Thanks!
@Shelter I'm glad you found us. Welcome.
@Lindy Thanks!
@Shelter Thanks. I've been asleep since we got home from the doctor this afternoon.
@Lindy
Rest easy and well.
@Shelter Welcome Shelter! You have landed in a very safe and comfortable environment. Good to meet you.
Thank you so much! I got here at the end of October, but I will always accept good wishes.
I’m in Asheville.
@Shelter Julie, where in South Jersey, if I may ask. I was born in Camden, as many were, and lived in Atco.
@Graci
Lol I was born at Lourdes.
I grew up in Oaklyn.
@Shelter When I was little, we'd drive up to Oaklyn and get on a charter bus to a Phillies game a few times a year. (One of the only good memories of my father)
@Graci
Smart! Parking at The Vet was a nightmare.
@Shelter Crazier at Connie Mack. (yep, that old_
@Graci
The Vet opened a month before I was born.
@Shelter I didn't like it as a kid after Connie Mack. Yes, no butt splinters, but the action seemed so far away!
@Graci
My mom DESPISED The Vet.
@Shelter
Welcome and thank you.
Quick bit about me.
50, widowed in NYC.
No kids, like cats but not ready to adopt as I like being out and about and knows better than trying to be responsible if I can't be there.
The professionals I have dealt with know I am on the Spectrum, likely Asperger's.
No major health issues yet, but stress does a number and the occasional anxiety attack caused by too much going on and no way to press stop and regather after a disrupted episode.
@Shelter Welcome!
I am in the other Carolina. I’ve got a couple of cats.
