@MotherDucker oh god, it still hurts. It will always hurt... 😭 ❤️
@lilyunsub I picked it at random for an oral book report in grade school 😭
I will never recover from the plot nor from the humiliation of the oral presentation.
@MotherDucker I read that several times.
@MotherDucker Pretty sure it was Ferdinand the Bull. I was pretty young. But also my parents had taken me to real bull fights before I was 5 so.... Yeah.
@Klaatu_Veratta_Nectarine 💔 What a book!
So sorry to hear you were traumatized by that at such a tender age. The fights, not the book.
@Klaatu_Veratta_Nectarine Jane Eyre. I don’t cry easily.
@MotherDucker Where the red ferns grow. I bawled like a baby at the end.
@MotherDucker Black Beauty.
@ToolPackinMama I never got into the equine books, because at that age I was determined to not do everything my sister did. I remember her agony over Black Beauty. She also had a black Percheron and did show jumping and dressage. So it hit her doubly hard.
Black Beauty
@MotherDucker Where the Red Fern Grows
For me, it was Bridge to Terebithia. That book fractured my very soul.
