@Madken65 My Truck's name is Cany because its a GMC Canyon.

I'm a very creative fiction writer so I put some real thought into it.

My son named my old 1997 Mercury Mountaineer Myrtle when he drove it... Until the end... And then named the 2014 Subaru Sasha... No name yet for his current first post grad car Honda Accord...

I don't name mine... They're just all my babies...

My oddity is rubbing the dash if I pass a disabled cat on the road...
It's ok... You just keep being a good girl...

Yes they are all girls as well... 🤷🏻‍♂️

Your comment brought this to mind:

One, two, three, four
Well, my time went so quickly
I went lickety-splitly out to my ol' 55
As I pulled away slowly, feeling so holy
God knows I was feeling alive

Now, the sun's coming up
I'm riding with Lady Luck
Freeway, cars and trucks
Stars beginning to fade
And I lead the parade
Just a-wishin' I'd stayed a little longer
Oh Lord, let me tell ya that the feeling getting stronger

KEEP THAT SUN COMING UP

Before that Mercury that I drove for dang almost 20 years... I had a 1987 Jeep Cherokee old body style with an AMC straight six... Replaced the head gasket at 150k miles.. and drove it to 295k... Actuality replaced the thermostat myself on that thing.. Which for me was an accomplishment.. I get so frustrated with things...

Beast in the snow... Got me to work 50 miles away and back for 10 years... I was on some back roads in the winter before the plows got to them...

@InvaderGzim @Madken65 It's interesting how habits become traditions.

I fly a lot, and often on Southwest. I have this tradition that if I touch the heart by the door before I board and then the top of the door, I know it will be a good flight.

I don't know how this started for me but it doesn't feel right if I skip, so much so that when I fly different airlines I approximate the tradition.

Just a bit of magic before take off.

@Madken65

Um . . . I haven't named mine in the 7 years I've owned it. How horrible of me.

But my older sister drove my mom's old Pontiac Catalina 2-door coupe in high school. Pale salmon color w/huge back fins. Thing was a tank. No power steering or brakes.

She named it 'Ethel the Whisper Jet.'

Maybe that's why I never named my cars. I can't top that.
