Sliced American cheese has it's place. Burgers, grilled cheese but not on pasta of any sort.

sliced American? nope...
but, i *have* made ramen with sliced beef,szechuan peppers, green onions, & bleu cheese crumbled into it. It was awesome too!

but american is fine for plenty of uses where you don't have time or give a fuck to baby real cheese.

I didn't vote, because American cheese slices is sometjing I just don't buy, although they're available. Recently however, I did similar with Vintage English Cheddar on a simple chili and vegetable ramen bowl and Oh Em Gee it was so gooooood! The way the cheese makes the soup go creamy is divine! @Kurtroedeger
