Have you read “Lamb, The Gospel According to Biff, Christ’s Childhood Pal” by Christopher Moore? It has much the same plot and vibe.

I think the more scripture you know, the funnier it is. Not like I claim to be a Bible scholar by any stretch at all.

YES!!! It's one of the few books that genuinely made me laugh out loud. One of the funniest things I've ever read. All of Moore's books are fantastic but Lamb is my favorite.
