Physical Therapist before the first excercise: "You will hurt very badly later on today from what I am getting ready to do with you."

Me: ๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ˜ฐ๐Ÿ˜‘๐Ÿ˜ฎ๐Ÿ˜…

When finished & all my bones & muscles had been tortured to their limit, she said: "I think you need to come 2x a week for 3 weeks. I will make you strong, but you will hurt in every part of your body. Take your pills. Do your excercises at home 2x a day, pain or not, or it will be worse when you come here"๐Ÿ˜ฌ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿคฃ

@Saorsa I will!๐Ÿ˜‚ Can't stand straight; she did stretch me๐Ÿ˜†

@Gramdma2011

I always said the women who really wanted to be dominatrixes but didn't like dressing up in leather and latex became physical therapists instead.

"Okay, does this hurt?"
::shrieks::
"Great!"

@Gramdma2011
I mean... at least she's honest?
I hope you don't hurt too bad! But I bet she knows her stuff. Yikes. Good luck!

@janallmac Yes, I trust the whole team of Drs, Therapists, etc., because they are always blunt. They let patients know exactly what to expect, and are highly concerned with progress and any concerns that may arise.

@Gramdma2011 I used to call my PT Torquemada. But the pain was worth it for me... avoided surgery. Good luck!! ๐Ÿ€

@Sheree Thanks. Mine is post spinal decompression & knee surgeries; ugh. Current is for back, but pain is still in knee as a result of back issues; ugh. Stopped for food; not cooking today; pain is coming!๐Ÿ˜… I don't mind the therapy, just the pain associated w/it; hate taking pills, but am forced to...if I don't stay regular w/them (some days I skip) pain is doubled & return to pills. Hopefully therapy will eventually reduce the need for them.

@Mauve_matelot @Gramdma2011 @Sheree It's the only way to keep as much movement as I can for as long as I can. I go to a charity where I pay a contribution in order to receive 1-2-1-or 1-2-2 physio in order to try and keep everything going. This is where I go and I also have oxygen therapy there too - bmstc.org/

@Mandypar @Mauve_matelot @Sheree They seem like a great place to go! Yes, keep moving as long as you can; I know myself I have to get up & do stuff daily even on my most painful days, otherwise my leg muscles stiffen horribly. I have seen atrophy in MS and other patients when CNA; it's very easy to get into that situation without daily ROM. I had an MS patient who taught me a lot; we had to assist w/limb movement; he was afraid of losing control of his muscles/limbs if not excercised daily.

@Mandypar @Mauve_matelot @Sheree Main thing my therapists stressed is breathing through excercises; I tend to hold breath in pain when moving. Muscles relax better when breathing properly. Oยฒ is definitely a plus in therapy. If needed, my big Bro left his 0ยฒ machine here when he moved out. And a brand new treadmill. Therapist told me do NOT use treadmill at home yet when I told her I had one.๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ Said I need to strengthen my core first. Gave me some bed excercises to do for now

@Gramdma2011 @Mandypar @Mauve_matelot I hold my breath too. I have to really focus on it to get adequate oxygen. Let's keep moving & improving! ๐Ÿค—

@Gramdma2011 I feel ya! I hate pain!! I hope yours get controlled & is soon a distant memory. ๐Ÿ’œ
