Question of the Day: If you could instantly become fluent in another language, which one would you pick (and why)?

Spanish, so I could order with confidence at my local Mexican restaurants.

I eat a LOT of Mexican food. Just saying. 😁

@GaryPoole
European Portuguese, because I'm seriously considering moving there.

@GaryPoole
Spanish would be practical; large Puerto Rican community here.
ASL, just for it being a whole different form of language.

@GaryPoole
Portuguese because even though my mother was Portuguese she never taught us the language and I live in a town where about 40% of the population is Portuguese.

@GaryPoole Spanish, because it is 1 of the most commonly spoken languages out there.

@GaryPoole Scottish Gaidhlig because I'd like to live in the Outer Hebrides where it's still commonly spoken.

@GaryPoole Japanese. Because post-WWII, my grandmother wanted her family to speak only English. So she refused to teach my mom to speak Japanese (except for a few words), which meant the rest of us down the tree didn't get to learn it, either.
