I dropped my phone in the toilet. Fully loaded. Quickly removed, rinsed - also quickly. Removed from case, towel-dried, seemed to keep working but screen jumpy. Couldn't turn off for a while, finally got it off. Now sitting in white rice in a warm oven. Send good vibes.
@FireMonkey Uh, eew. Sorry, mate.
@FireMonkey Is this the same Fully Loaded as Mashed Potatoes or the Lindsay Lohan movie with a sentient Volkswagon Bug?
BECAUSE THOSE ARE THE CHOICES I WANT.
@FireMonkey Rice is not great for the phone. You want to use ISO in the ports. More info here https://www.ifixit.com/Wiki/Don%27t_Put_Your_Device_in_Rice._Here%27s_Why...
I dropped new iPhone in OtterBox Defender case in Crystal River after snorkeling with Manatees. It was in the river in a foot or so of muck under a dock. My guide dove in and miraculously found the phone.
Although at least 10 min in muck/water, it worked perfectly after I dried it off.
Needless to say, I’m an OtterBox Defender junkie. Even bought one for my iPad.
Still working flawlessly 3 yrs later

Otterbox cases rock. I have stained concrete floors and I drop things. Sometimes they land in water.
No damage to current and previous phones.
I lived on the road 8 mos in my built out van. Can’t tell you how many times iphone & iPad have bounced in their Defender cases.
Just ordered new XR Defender case. Old one wore out. Half prize sale on Amazon.

I'll go have a look, mine is wearing in places. :)
Whole chunk of silicone outer skin fell off mine

I've dropped this one plenty, have had otterboxes, this was my 2nd Spigen case. This time the fates were aligned. when I stood and turned, the phone slid from my robe pocket, bounced on the rim, and entered the sour water like Mark Spitz. Without the crack, I doubt there would have been issues.
The guy at Ubreak-Ifix looked at me sadly as I entered..."We don't have our systems up, since yesterday, I'll take your phone, but don't even have parts for it."
@FireMonkey @LnzyHou
I've heard good things about Spigen, though a friend of mine had one and it fell from about 3 feet and cracked the screen.
Though maybe, like Otterbox, it depends on which case you have?
Otterbox cases extend outward from the screen so there's some screen protection there.
💯 OtterBox girl
@FireMonkey Rice alone won't be good. Add 1 cup diced onion, 1/2 cup diced celery, 1/2 lb cubed chicken, 2 cups broth, remove the phone, bake at 225 for 1 hour.
@FireMonkey Sending... 🤞
