I made a blog post about my new stamp and how it came to be.
@corlin thanks for reading! ❤️🙌
Theravada Buddhists dress the deceased in white and lay the body out for a vigil, during which monks are invited to chant and offer blessings. The dead person’s hand lies extended, and visitors pour a cup of water over the hand into a bowl of water in which blossoms float— asking forgiveness for any transgressions against the person during her life.
In the monastery, when an elder monk or nun dies, the vigil can last a week. And all are instructed to Meditate on Death.
@corlin it is an incredibly powerful and transformative practice. More people should do it.
@BipolarArtist Good read. I throw humor at a lot of my struggles so when challenged with what I should be doing right now I can't help but think, "LOOK BUSY!"
Tomorrow is step one of an important evaluation for me with a therapist. Hoping for news that might not be a relief but at least an answer. So what I should be doing right now is trying not to freak the fuck out
@Fellixe haha humor can be a great coping mechanism as long as it doesn’t get in the way of you doing the things you need to take care of yourself. Sounds like you are doing all the right things though! Good luck with this evaluation. I hope it leads to something fruitful for you. Thanks for reading!
