I have no patience for independents.

Last weekend, at the beach, I watched a fisherman gently and patiently untangle a seagull from some fishing line.

He was so competent and careful.

Yes, it’s sad that the bird got tied up, but the joy of watching it fly away was profound.

I suppose nearly every happy story has a sorrowful substrate, but the good is still worthy of note.
