@Veronique I think it might be how you know you have mice...

@Veronique No problem! I brought over three friends, and we lifted the car up, turned it on its side, and carried it along the walkway between the house and the adjacent fence, and out to the street! This parking job kind of reminds me of that experience.

@Veronique When I was in collage I bought a Triumph Spitfire. It was always breaking down, and at one point I parked it in the back yard of some of my buddies. We accessed the back yard through an alley from an adjacent street. They moved, but we had permission from the landlord to keep the car there until it could be fixed. Two years elapsed until I could afford the repairs, but when I went to get the car, I discovered that a fast food joint had opened and in doing so they built over the ally.

@MrGoat get electric. The Cretaceous called. It wants its gas back!

@LiberalLibrarian Do you think that there are six degrees of separation between General Tso and Colonel Sanders?

@Alfred If I have dated Jaclyn Smith's first cousin, how many degrees separate me and Kevin Bacon?

@BrianHjelleVirologist The kids are running for their lives. Of course they will be faster than we were. We were simply running for our dinners.

@AuntCrabby What a body blow that is! I am so sorry to hear this. Your aunt was an amazing women that provided biting insights that inspired many. I wish you and your family strength and resilience in this tine of sadness.

What do you see here? (This was posted to a DIY-focused project board as a question about color changes for the barn red carriage house in this picture)

@ChristopherNoyesRoberts @BrentSullivan Geoexchange systems (or surface geothermal) actually uses heat from the sun stored near the surface of the earth (say the first 1000 or so feet). A geothermal heat pump is about twice as efficient as an air-to-air mimi split. I have a solar array and geothermal heat pump. From Feb 22-Mar22, my utility bills in Mid-coast Maine totaled $10. Over the course of a year I pay net zero dollars to heat and electrify my 3000 sq ft home.

@ChristopherNoyesRoberts @BrentSullivan Always contextualize the carbon cost of an activity with the opportunity cost of deriving the same value another way. That is, compare the carbon cost per MW with the carbon cost of deriving that mega watt using other systems. When you do this, Geothermal power generation jumps way ahead of most of systems.

I’m excited. My kiddo is competing at the state math championships today.
