I know I've been feeling cranky lately, but this is a new level for me. I just walked through the house, saw no family members, and said to my cat when I got to my room, "I don't want to see people anyway. People are ugly and make noise."

Cat says I'm not wrong.

A string of things has kept me from playing my ukulele for a few months. Long enough for my fingertips to go soft again. And I'm in one of the worst arthritis flare-ups I've ever known.

But I played today. And it HURT. But the ukulele sang... And it was so worth it.

Now I just need to put new strings on my guitar and explain to my cat why we don't play with them her way.

Okay. Once I got to writing, talking about psychological masks was even more complicated than I expected. Trying to explain that not all autistic people are intense maskers, nonautistic people often mask more than they realize, and keeping the focus on what the mask charm indicates in a reading...

I did the best I could without going too deep. Also tried to be clear about that "not going too deep".

I was reading last night about what the Carpathia's crew and travelers did to get to the Titanic and rescue people. I had never heard this before. This is the Titanic story I want somebody to make a movie about!

Looking at my schedule and photos, and it turns out the next post I'm writing for my divination Substack is about masking. Whoo! That's a big one!

And now my brain is saying, "But this could be a longer list!" πŸ˜„

1. Dr. Strangelove
2. Paint Your Wagon
3. Monty Python and The Holy Grail
4. Drop Dead Fred
5. Disneynature's Bears
6. Lilo & Stitch
7. Up

I had to explain tonight why whale penises do not account for all reports of sea serpents.

Not how I expected to use my bardic skills, but here we are.

Some days people really go hard with not actually listening, just hearing enough that they feel comfortable assuming they know what I'm saying.

I'm going to stop correcting things one day and just let them make their lives harder for a while.

( I whole heartily agree with this.)

How to Weave the Artisan Web

Everyone should start blogging again. Own your own site. Visit all your friends' sites. Bring back the artisan, hand-crafted Web. Sure, it's a little more work, but it's worth it. You don't even need to stop using social media! It's a "yes, and" situation, not a "no, but" one.

I'm not a fan of as a holiday, but I think it's always a good time to stop and look at what one has to be thankful for. One of the things I'm thankful for this year is that I took that chance and came over here. I'm thankful for this community. I'm thankful that "community" means something here. πŸ’œ

Trying to be a little less shy about . Embracing the idea that is really where my passion is and what I want to be serious in writing about.

So... I write a weekly substack about divination. It's currently focused on how to build a set for charm casting. I put up a new post today. It tells the story behind the piece, which is about the kindness of a stranger.

I may have been trying to write the wrong book all this time? This isn't me looking at my project too seriously too early. It's something I think that project is leading me to understand about what I was working on before.

I might have more passion about a completely different thing? I might want to write something I don't actually think I can get people to read? I'm thinking in questions?
