I decided to try the Safe Passage reading from "Agatha All Along". It makes more sense than I want it to. That's less about the layout and more about me having a history of feeling like divination is tools for calling myself out.

I pretty much always do this with ink. That may change now that I've experienced colored pencil changing the whole feel of it.

I'm celebrating every victory, no matter how small. With my arthritis being agitated by... everything...yes, getting dressed and making the bed has been victory today!

I'm just going to weird my way through this whole sketchbook.

Water, salt, etc...all in the shrimp tank! I'll let the water heat and the salt mix in, then put new eggs in tomorrow.

@richieleyland This is so sad. He can analyze the data, but he can't listen to the music.

@VelvetDuchess In discussions with other people who do divination, there have definitely been a few things standing out. Like, tarot readers finding out they aren't the only one getting 7 of Swords.

But when it comes to interpretation, I think it's all too fresh to be sure we aren't reading what we want into things. "This isn't over" is the part I agree with. Something's going on...but I don't know if any of us can know where it will lead.

When I almost forget I live in a house full of Yankees, cold weather comes and somebody makes what they think is chili.

Bless their hearts. They are family. I love them. But I want the chili I grew up with!

I've been working on this all week. Just letting emotions flow with the paint first, then the ink. I think it's finished now. It has that feeling of "one more line would be one too many".

I put together the new end table for my shrimp tank today. I might not get water, salt, and eggs in there until tomorrow, but it's all ready to do this again.

Since it's not by the window anymore I might end up doing a background painting at some point to put behind the tank.

I'm going to have to be more selective in the coming weeks about people I spend time around. My hypervigilance is already in overdrive. I have to take care of myself so then I can take care of other people.

In discussing our experience with voter registration not getting processed and the County Clerk saying, "The mail has been unreliable with this," spouse mentioned hearing from people in other places who got their mail-in ballots sent back to them.

Yeah, there are - infuriatingly - always people who just don't vote. But the numbers this time? It wasn't all "just didn't vote".

@LordFentonGaming On the name thing... I just explained to someone today that simply saying "Republican presidency" will be a great insult to him. Names have power. Sometimes that's about speaking them. Sometimes it's refusing to speak them.

These are the moments when great art is born.

In that spirit, I’ve started painting, writing poems and songs/lyrics again. Even if I only ever read, see or hear them, the process is cathartic.

There have been discussions in the family about risks, drawing lines, and preparing for certain things. Just in case.

I'm probably - somehow - making a lot more art over the next few years. Students of history can tell you art is rebellion. And I can make art from anything.

I'm eating chocolate.

Just thought I'd share some good news. There's a good news shortage, so we take what we can get.

Honestly, I can't scream with rage and fall into a sea of my own tears. I'm not saying you shouldn't. I'm saying I am incapable of it. That's a big part of what PTSD has done to me. That's how I've survived this long.

So I'm going to keep knitting. Keep making mudballs. Keep praying to those I pray to. Keep finding something to keep me going every day.

Please don't think it's because I don't care enough.

I did this again today to break in a new deck of cards, and then remembered I posted it the last time I did it - 2 years ago.

If you have a deck of playing cards and want a distraction, get your cards out and follow along.

If you don't have a deck of cards, please just trust that it does what it says.

This has been going on all day on Threads. I first saw it middle of last night/this morning with a post from Zambia. I've seen Greece, Japan, Italy, Venezuela... everywhere!
