@Priestess Since the gender binary, and it being determined by physical body type, is largely a tool of colonization...well, he's sticking to the script. I admit I hoped for at least a little better from this Pope, though.
Wow! To create examples to be used in the book I'm writing, I did four different types of divination readings on...well, writing the book. I feel like I just called myself out four times.
When I get anxious about this, I need to remember to go back and read what I wrote down for those readings. I really do believe in myself. I just don't always remember that.
@amarand I made sure I didn't say which way I say it so people would be honest in their votes. Watching the numbers so far is making me wonder about things like regional influence in speech.
@danialexis I love the movie. I love the book. They are very different, though! 😄 I've heard - don't know how true it is - that a couple of chapters of the book depressed the director, so he had someone else read it and summarize it for him.
Movie was the first time I saw Neil Patrick Harris not be Doogie Howser.
@Alfred Why didn't Harpo Marx speak?
@Lulz4l1f3 It's possible that the answers are he does not know, he is going with those fears, and he would imply that Catholics aren't "real Christians" if he did know.
As a child, I had an elderly family member who was not happy about my friendship with a Catholic girl because "They aren't real Christians. All that stuff about Mary and the Saints is idol worship and they'll go to hell for it."
@realDDGlover Grandma Helen sounds awesome! 💜 The best make sure they give you stories to tell.
Y'all! Percy Jackson just found out who his father is, which confirmed what I was suspecting! And he found out who his favorite teacher actually is, which confirmed another thing I was suspecting! And it's after 1am but I might have to stay awake and finish the whole book!

@AmserJ @QueenOfEverything I haven't heard of Robin Hobb, but this whole conversation is adding to my list of books to go looking for. 😄
@QueenOfEverything @AmserJ There was one of Anne McCaffery's books in boxes of my grandfather's books after he died and somebody else got it before I could claim it! I've heard good things about her worldbuilding.
@AmserJ I don't have any particular authors that I turn to for dragon stories. I just get agitated by seeing them in tv shows and stories portrayed as giant monsters with poorly designed anatomy. It's a weird thing to be so picky about. I have no idea why it bothers me.
@SatuUnelmia I bet he actually enjoyed just being Some Guy for a little while.
@Wbtphdjd I style my headwraps for all kinds of things. Might as well test the power. If seasons work, I might start coming up with a style that makes my nephew want to clean his room.
@SatuUnelmia Okay, I'll be honest...I don't know who he is either.
@AverageCitizen I lived in WI for five years. It was heaven to me, and after three years I still wish we hadn't needed to move! But I moved there from Southeast Texas, and I still remember going through my first winter. When it got back up to high 30s I thought ot was comfortable again! 😄
@catlynne333 Ah, yes...the "but the 1st Amendment says" argument. Every time someone tries to apply that to anybody who is not the government, I recognize them as unqualified to tell me about the Constitution.
