@CrisHarris I'm trying to decide if this is "I don't think that means what you think it means" territory, or a "not my kink" moment.

Cat keeps going back and forth between us, kneading at our flesh...makin' biscuits. No amount of "Stop! Here, I'll pet you!" will stop her.

Me: Dw i ddim eisiau bisgedi!

Cat looks shocked/offended and walks away.

Husband: What did you tell her???

Me: "I don't want biscuits."

I hope everyone stops mistaking me for "always friendly" someday. I'm always kind. Friendliness is situational.

It's "creepy" to greet someone with, "Afternoon blessings to you and the microscopic organisms inhabiting your flesh!"

Yes, I knew that. That's why I did it. Just because I have to be polite doesn't mean I have to make conversation enjoyable for other people.

I need celebrity deaths to be put on hold for a while. In some ways, these people raised me. They taught me a lot through the TV. Processing a world that doesn't have them in it anymore is weird. Not the nice weird.

Friends, it is the middle of the night and I am too busy arguing with my characters to get any actual writing done.

Except...arguing with my characters counts as part of the process, right?

“She died on the feast day of the lost Irish mother goddess Anu…..goddess of the oceans and the howling winds and the windswept earth. Anu who the Catholic Church tried to turn into St. Anne the grandmother…but who could not really be tamed”

“Let her be our wild untamed saint. Let her help us take the tape off our mouths and our hearts. Let us always be too loud, too much, too loving, too fierce, too all of it...in her honor”

@GinaE1973 Trying to steal the tomatoes that the wrens are protecting!

I think I've found out who keeps knocking over one of the potted plants in my yard.

@publickovacs That's a beautiful case, though! I'd count it as an upgrade.

Today, I learned "mae'n ddrwg gen i" is Welsh "I'm sorry". This is one of those phrases that you go with how it used used, not word for word translation. The direct translation? More like, "there is bad I have". That means the Welsh have been apologizing with, "My bad!" long before it was popular.

Update: The film crew was a wonderful group. They took us out for lunch and we told stories like we had been friends for years. I was genuinely comfortable with them!

@JonathanSchultz With what I've read about where it was, and then where it wasn't and where it really was, I've thought, "Okay, not easy public areas...but still super easy for lots of familiar faces to plant something."

To quote Adrian Cronauer (Robin Williams) “The weather out there today is hot and shitty with continued hot and shitty in the afternoon. Tomorrow a chance of continued crappy with a pissy weather front coming down from the north. Basically, it's hotter than a snake's ass in a wagon rut.”

@pom_mom5 That is definitely an accurate weather report for where I live.

Y'aaaallllll... And, yes, that is said with a Texas drawl that raises the tone on the third "a" and drops again on the fourth "l".

My husband's job sent a film crew out to our house today, and my anxiety is tap dancing on the roof. It doesn't even know how to tap dance. The anxiety is just that high. Our living room looks surreal because it's our living room, but it's also currently a mini filming set???

This is good. Really. But also exhausting. And kind of 😱. But good. I swear it's good.

@JeniRizio I didn't know it would also be in English, so I was doing my best to read it in Welsh and I did understand most of it! Never thought I'd be so delighted to be able to understand "Dim cawl i chi!" I'm learning slowly, but I'm learning. My Welsh ancestors didn't get to pass the language on to me, so I'm correcting that.
