If your choice is between someone who will preserve your right to cast a meaningful vote and someone who will make your vote meaningless by substituting their judgment for the judgment of the people, you should always vote for the first one, no matter what their policy positions are.

If you dislike the policies of the first person, you can always vote to constrain or remove them at another election.

If you end up not liking the policies of the second person, you can't do a thing.
