@Zevon

Do Not trust anyone that says they're the "resistance media network."

The revolution will not be televised. Nor will it be on YouTube, Instagram, TikTok. Now is the time to learn how to use good encrypted communication channels.

Small bands of trusted people can do more good than you think.

Don't forget the power of song.

What I am using:

(only a suggestion)

Great recommendations here.

Don't forget to also use web browsers who don't spy on you or leak your data.

On desktop, I primarily use LibreWolf (hardened Firefox); occasionally Ungoogled Chromium.

On mobile (Android) I use Chromite.

Test results of these and their competitors may be found here:

Yep.
You do not need to "go off grid", or hide completely. from the net. You do need to learn to use some tools, and teach others to use them.

Really folks this is not that hard to learn.

@corlin @voltronic @mikeharmanos @Zevon

Good thing about OpenKeyChain is you can encrypt loadsa things on your device files, pics, video, voice memos etc... Anything that you deem personal you encrypt it yourself - handy before you upload to some cloud storage like drive, outlook etc....

@ecksmc @voltronic @mikeharmanos @Zevon

On the Mac:
Same for GPG Suite

gpgtools.org

It is a system wide encrypt and decrypt tool.
(right click on any file, select "services", and you have access to all the PGP tools)

@corlin @voltronic @mikeharmanos @Zevon

The sad thing about these services all mentioned here its getting people you know to also use them - most are stuck in their ways and don't wanna learn "new" things especially "new" things that you need to learn how to use.

Some of these encrypted services have made it easier though for new users not familiar with encryption to use right out the box. That said some you do need to read up on to fully understand how to use them.

@ecksmc @voltronic @mikeharmanos @Zevon

It's the new/old thing.

Throw a "Key signing party."
Invite some friends over, get some good food and beverages. Put some good music on the box. Ask them to bring their tech devices.

Then Have fun !
Teach them all good tech security.

And Exchange, & Sign PGP keys.

Follow

I've tried so many times to get my friends hooked up with things like this. And even the smartest and most practical of them never once anything to do with them. They are totally fine having accounts with services that harvest your data. 😢
