So, the Republican shooter wanted to get EITHER president. Very interesting.
Sounds like his motivation is that "accelerationist" bs, to me. Was he trying to usher in the "end of days" or "magapocalypse now". We may never know or they may get lots of information from his smartphone.
I'm assuming encryption means he was using telegram or WhatsApp or signal. I also kinda feel like them throwing that word around is kinda buzz (since lots of things use encryption nowadays). Guess we will see.
@PatrickKay
Tangential comment - I don't like the use of encrypted communications being demonized, like that alone makes someone suspicious.
I use some encrypted comms that are way more anonymous and locked down than the three you mentioned and I have no criminal intent.
@voltronic I fully agree. And same! I've been a telegram user since it's development phase. It's very handy to stay in comms with friends & family & connections the world over.
I use signal overlay for sms.
The more ways I can shield data and safeguard my privacy from the many algorithm starved monsters looking to profit off of it, the better.
It's odd that it is only demonized when it is convenient for specific narratives, when it's kind of a baseline expectation for the things nowaday.
@voltronic (And I know there is a lot of debate about telegram, but I find it extremely useful and reliable, as an application and if one knows what they are doing it can be very secure).
@PatrickKay
This is has been my secure messenger of choice for a while. Several others here use it. It's a total paradigm shift.
@voltronic I'll definitely give it a look!
