The random ethernet disconnects from my desktop PC have been giving me fits lately. I'm pretty good at this stuff, but I'm honestly at a loss here.

So far, I have:
- reset all network hardware
- reset Win10 network stack
- tested / changed cables
- checked that power management is disabled
- upgraded drivers
- switched from Intel dual port GB adapter to onboard realtek; repeated all of above
- upgraded router firmware (DDWRT)

Still getting random periodic disconnects. Suggestions?

@voltronic I’m far from being a tech expert, so my dummy thought is to try and create a new Ethernet network connection in the area you set up your different internet connections and erase the old one.

@voltronic
Interesting. … I’ve experienced random intermittent disconnects. MBP, browser or webpage in browser alerting of such. But I am almost certain it is the Cloudflare macOS plugin randomly changing IP addressing. I also have my router set up using Cloudflare DNS too.

@voltronic have you tried adjusting the power management setting for your ethernet adapter (deselect the Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power checkbox thingy) and flushing your dns?

The fact that it's been doing this for both the Intel Pro dual gigabit card and also the onboard Realtek adapter is what's so odd.

Naturally, since posting this thread, I haven't had a disconnect...

@voltronic @ATXJane I was going to suggest hardware but you seemed to have already ruled that out.

Odd suggestion: downgrade whatever your most recent upgrade was before your attempts to fix it. Perhaps there's a bug there causing the issue. If not that I'm at a loss especially since it might be on your provider's side.
