I haven't seen this movie in forever, maybe since it came out, and I don't remember any of it.
Seriously weird. But cool.
@Kinnison
That's a good one too.
I really liked the Kyle McLachlan Dune, watched it MANY times. And I've read and listened to the book 5 times minimum. But after seeing Dune part 1 last weekend on IMAX with Lasers, plus the Dune part 2 preview... WOW. 🤯
(I may have a wee Frank Herbert addiction)
@Vanitas @voltronic yeah I seem to be among the few that enjoyed Kyle MacLachlan Dune.
@voltronic @Vanitas I really enjoyed the new one.
@voltronic @Vanitas its quite well done.
@fuse @Vanitas
I enjoyed it, but I feel like it ended in an odd spot. It was holding quite closely to the original movie, and if it continues to do so the next installment is going to be rather short unless they draw it out.
One big thing that was missing was a modernized depiction of the Navigators.
@voltronic @Vanitas rumours are there could be a third movie.
I've seen much buzz about a Dune Messiah. Which speaks to @voltronic's thoughts about where part 2 might end. There is also a whole lot of never-explored (at least I haven't seen any prequels/"histories" written) about how the Dune universe developed over 10,000 years. 🤔
@voltronic Virginia Madsen as Princess Irulan. Lovely in her early roles, but even more radiant and moving later as Maya in Sideways.
@voltronic "a beginning is a very delicate time".
IMO read the novel first.then watch 1984'version of Dune.then watch Villeneuves' 2021 version.
