The only exception might be if you are streaming in aptX lossless, though that's rare. My phone to Denon AVR can only do AAC 44.1 kHz. The source files are 24 bit, 96 kHz lossless.
The dynamics have become highly compressed, frequency response truncated, and it sounds like I'm listening through an FM radio through a heavy blanket. My original recording is quite faithful to the live sound, but this is just awful. No thank you.
@voltronic I DEMAND A REFUND
@voltronic there are dongles with 3.5mm female conectors that may expand sound output capabilities for phones, like the CX-Pro 31993 and are quite inexpensive
@elmaxx
I know, I have two of the Apple ones, and they work well with my Samsung. This was just for convenience.
@voltronic I've heard, never confirmed, that apple dongles limit output power on non idevices
@elmaxx
You heard correctly, but that can be bypassed if you are using a player app that supports direct USB streaming. I use USB Audio Player Pro. If you want full volume from other apps, you plug in the dongle, open USB audio player pro and raise the volume there to max. Then exit and play your audio from the other app.
You also want to make sure you get the USA version of the Apple dongle, which has much higher output power than the version they sell in other countries.

I know people and sending my request as we type
Wow that first post is the worst run-on sentence I've ever written. Please pardon me I was speaking stream of consciousness to my phone because I'm angry at how terrible my recording sounds now.
