Yep, he's been at the helm of LA Phil for a while now. Dudamel is one of my most in-demand conductors in the world. NY scoring him is a HUGE deal, like getting LeBron or Brady to jump ship to your team. He's going to inject a ton of energy there, like Yannick has done in Philly.

Look up El Sistema if you're not familiar. That's the program in Venezuela where this youth orchestra comes from, and Dudamel was a student in that program.

i glanced at El Sistema in passing, i'll dig deeper. never seen that level of reciprocal energy between conductor and players.
