WOW. This is a STUNNING performance and recording of Bach's "Little" Fugue in G Minor, BWV 578.

Performed on the Hazel Wright Organ at Christ Cathedral, Garden Grove, CA

The organist is Paul Jacobs, whose reputation precedes himself.

Recording engineer is Christian Amonson, who I occasionally speak with on Gearspace.

Both are at the absolute top of their craft, and it shows.

Christian informed me that the audio track for this video is just from a single pair of Sennheiser MKH 800 Twin, in omni mode, into a DAD AX32R.

Wow, indeed. That is a spectacular performance and recording. My room just got a whole lot bigger...

... not the same thing at all but I had fun seeing Virgil Fox on his Heavy Organ tour, playing in the U of M's Northrup Auditorium on a Rodgers Touring Organ, complete with modest light show in the 70s.

Jacobs really went for it on his registration choices; not conservative at all.

Speaking of the room being bigger: I don't know if you saw my reply that this mix was just the one pair of omnis. Christian said he also did an Atmos mix, which would obviously use more.

This mix with just the pair of mics is plenty of "space" for me. I need to ask when this will be commercially released.
