@voltronic A lot of Wagner is similar. It's the only thing worse than the chugging train of Mozart.

@Graci
The bass part for the opening Sunrise of Strauss' Also Sprach Zarathustra looks identical, except on a low C and in 4/4.

@Graci
Also, I didn't know you were a bass player until now. 👍🎸

@voltronic It's been years now but yep. Classical and jazz.

@voltronic @Graci
But *someone's* gotta provide the foundational notes for the piece! 😆
I have a friend who plays cello and hear there's a lot of repetitive notes for that instrument as well.

@Teej_Muk @Graci
I have been singing Bass 2 in choir since I was 14, so I know.

@voltronic @Teej_Muk I went from T1 to B1 over a HS summer. Kept a t2 to B1until cancer treatment and now that's screwed. LOL

@Graci @Teej_Muk
Well the only good news is that once you became a baritone, you could develop your falsetto to become a counter-tenor and sing all those Handel arias as originally intended.

@Graci @voltronic
Between high school and college (in my late 30s) I went from Soprano 1 to Alto 2. I auditioned for an adult choir a few years ago as a mezzo but they already had enough of those!

@Teej_Muk @voltronic True. And older pieces weren't written for bass, just cello. We used to joke about making an electric motor for Mozart bowing

@voltronic This is why most bassists fall asleep during performances 😅

@voltronic Just goes to show it doesn't need to be complex to be great music.
Now. What's the right hand doing? 🤣
