Not so much tax breaks so much as just doing smart business. If you've got $10B lying around, throw it into R&D and other expenses that will likely make you more money in the future. Reduces profit & tax liabilities at year end.
It does however annoy shareholders wanting dividends but Amazon is notorious for that.
@Smersh @voltronic
So what you're saying is they each have giant paper shredders labelled "R&D" they pour cash money into day and night. THAT IS A LOT OF CASH
@voltronic I use it daily. What do they expect from Alexa? It may not make direct money but brings me back to Amazon all the time.
@voltronic maybe someday someone will figure out how to make things that don't have to try to sell us other things. I like my Alexa, but don't need it to monetize my interactions. Would be nice if there were more neutral options out there.
@voltronic
I can't understand how much money Alexa and Facebook metaverse (mega money shredder) have spent.
How did they spend so much. Are they just tax breaks?
Could these companies please do something productive that benefits, I dunno, human beings.
