I was never a big fan of RAID, though it has its place in servers.
There was a time when the cool kids were running RAID 0 arrays in their power rigs. Glad I resisted that trend until SSDs came down in price.
my nas has always had a RAID5 array (old skewl), and I've lost many individual drives over the years and replaced with fresh drive off shelf, so imma fan...
@voltronic @th3j35t3r I have two 500gb nvme pro performance series running in raid 0 because.. why not! Moar Power! My system boots in like 15 seconds, it is so nice!
@voltronic @th3j35t3r I was one of those cool kids. It sounded fun at the time but it ended up not being fun or practical in a simple personal setup, but I wanted to say I had it 'cause it sounded cool.
