It gets dark. So many reports of things like people's chickens dying, wild animals dying, pets becoming sick, yet they say it's safe to return. Media actively ignoring all the first hand evidence being shared. Hell, a reporter was even arrested at the mayor's speech a few days ago - charged him with trespassing.

Apparently the rail workers knew this was a potential disaster for a long while, but cutting corners to save money was more important.

Haven't been on a vacation in almost a decade... With the way things are going, here's hoping I can work one in before the world goes bottom up.

Feels like there's less and less ideological middle ground for rational people to stand on these days.

@ucantstop_me Seriously. If anything is advanced enough to make it here, they're gonna be advanced enough to take what they need without resistance. If we actually have a shot at fighting them, 99% chance of it being a false flag.

@TubunMuzuru I know you're right. Sometimes it feels like trying to walk on scar tissue. Just gotta toughen it up. Thanks for the advice, TM.

@TubunMuzuru Sounds like you've found a good way to manage, and it's always a bonus having a partner there as a reminder of what you deserve, and that you're not fighting alone. Hope I can follow that example.

But, not being able to change the past doesn't clear up my thoughts on how much it affects my present and limits my future. Remember those Choose-Your-Adventure books? Feels like I worked my way into a bad end, and there's no turning back pages... but I'm just waxing melancholic, now. 😅

@TubunMuzuru Thanks for the advice - sorry you've had a similar issue. I used to practice anapanasati, but fell off when it felt like it wasn't giving me anything but lost time, ha. Probably should have stuck with it.

When I was a kid, I had a big problem with nightmares. These days, my brain ups the ante by replaying sad bits from my past I can't change.

Doesn't really give me insight on the current mess I'm in - just more bad feelings on the pile.

Rinse the rice before cooking?

@Eulimnadia Piano is the one instrument I'll never be able to play. I've got big hands, but my fingers don't do... that. 😅

One of my personal favorites.

"The Polonaise in A-flat major, Op. 53 (nicknamed Heroic, or Heroique) for solo piano was written by Frédéric Chopin in 1842."

Performed by Evgeny Kissin.

@Eulimnadia Same. His feelings translated into his work, and really hit home with me.
