Had the loveliest morning.
Most days, I wake up to find Anna staring at me. She gets antsy until I get up. Chonky comes to watch me in the bathroom while she paces. I feed them, then proceed with my day.
Today, they both woke up early, got in bed with me, settled in and cuddled for an hour.
That's NEVER happened.
Sometimes, if I go back to bed after feeding them, they'll join me, but are playful and only snuggle for a few minutes at a time.
Today, they quietly gave me just what I needed.
Ok.
I am fighting off a panic attack.
Tomorrow is my 55th birthday. My mom died from breast cancer at 54. My dad died this year. I had a heart attack 7 years ago at Christmas.
So I was already feeling highly vulnerable.
Today, I learned my landlord won't renew my lease at the end of the year. So my plan to move cross country in May is now happening in a couple of months. I may get an extra month, which would help, so I'm not trying to move over the holidays.

My mother’s generation experienced unspeakable violence. Han found the words for it.
