C) President Obama was shot at multiple times. They tried to bomb him and sent biologicals.

They didn't talk about a lot of them to the press, and downplayed them as much as possible. The concern was inspiring copycats.
There were a couple of incidents I remember hearing about briefly, but then nothing more.
