@FrankCannon Agreed, I can't see losing a friend quibbling over whether the tax rate should be 37% or 42%, but denying my right to exist as a gay man (or transgender person, or Black person, or ...) ? Fuck right off with that.
@tyghebright @FrankCannon a good reminder.
Just seeing some conversation here today and don't want to jump directly in... but this is my thought on the matter.
@tyghebright @FrankCannon I must have blocked somebody cause I'm definitely missing out. And that doesn't make me sad.
I'm a little more hesitant when it's someone well-respected here. They are a part of a lot of conversations... but I've noticed a pattern of them making excuses for harmful behavior.
I used to think of them as someone I liked, but they clearly think of themselves as a "good guy" but their insistence on neutrality in the face of harm belies that.
I guess it's time for a mute.
@tyghebright @FrankCannon
Use the tools, and I often mute, but allow them to directly @mention me.
@sfleetucker I'm afraid I have to block anyone who blocks me in return.I simply don't want them to have the opportunity to creep my timeline. @tyghebright
@tyghebright There's some people in the world that take that respect and/or popularity then weaponise it.They get a bit too big for their boots then lash out when they see that not everyone agrees with their biases because they're so used to everyone kow-towing to their personal biases with little to no pushback,even though they're demonstrably wrong. @sfleetucker
