@FrankCannon Agreed, I can't see losing a friend quibbling over whether the tax rate should be 37% or 42%, but denying my right to exist as a gay man (or transgender person, or Black person, or ...) ? Fuck right off with that.

@sfleetucker I can't have anyone that treats other people as less than they themselves want to be treated.We're all equals,no matter personal circumstances. @tyghebright

@FrankCannon @tyghebright

I wasn't worried about that with either of you... Unless it was a Tory. ;)

@sfleetucker πŸ˜‚ They have their uses too.......how not to go through life.
@tyghebright

@sfleetucker If you can't be a good example you can serve as a terrible warning. @tyghebright

@tyghebright Oh, you get a follow from me, just for this. : )

@sfleetucker @FrankCannon

Just seeing some conversation here today and don't want to jump directly in... but this is my thought on the matter.

@tyghebright @FrankCannon I must have blocked somebody cause I'm definitely missing out. And that doesn't make me sad.

@sfleetucker I dislike blocking anyone but it simply has to be done from time to time for mental wellness. @tyghebright

@FrankCannon @sfleetucker

I'm a little more hesitant when it's someone well-respected here. They are a part of a lot of conversations... but I've noticed a pattern of them making excuses for harmful behavior.

I used to think of them as someone I liked, but they clearly think of themselves as a "good guy" but their insistence on neutrality in the face of harm belies that.

I guess it's time for a mute.

@tyghebright There's some people in the world that take that respect and/or popularity then weaponise it.They get a bit too big for their boots then lash out when they see that not everyone agrees with their biases because they're so used to everyone kow-towing to their personal biases with little to no pushback,even though they're demonstrably wrong. @sfleetucker

@tyghebright @FrankCannon
Use the tools, and I often mute, but allow them to directly @mention me.

@sfleetucker I'm afraid I have to block anyone who blocks me in return.I simply don't want them to have the opportunity to creep my timeline. @tyghebright

@FrankCannon That's why I've done it. Sometimes it's all too much and you have to take care of yourself. @sfleetucker @tyghebright

@LiseL I try to be as decent a person as possible here but the odd times I feel the need to put a shot across someone's bows.They can see it as criticism,which it generally is,or an act of aggression,which they tend to see it as being,because how dare anyone challenge them. @sfleetucker @tyghebright

@FrankCannon

Well, sometimes we find ourselves in a tough spot here. We love this place, and we want to be decent and not have it become like that other place, but there are occasions when difficult words need to be spoken because silence just feels wrong. So we try our best to communicate well. Not easy on any social media. That said, there are times when the conversation is over. Mental health has to be a priority. That's when I use the tools.

@sfleetucker @tyghebright

@LiseL 100%.There's a cut-off point for me and when anyone crosses that threshold it's goodnight Vienna for them.Pushing obvious propaganda then smearing those who don't agree totally with it is a massive red flag for me. @sfleetucker @tyghebright

@sfleetucker Some people tend to forget because their need to be right at any cost overides anything else. @tyghebright

@tyghebright @FrankCannon @sfleetucker Not just friends, I have lost family over this. My choice was be gay or go away. its not a choice. This attitude from remaining siblings only surfaced after they became Trump supporters.

@Lucky188 Trump and those like him normalised hatred for diversity,even towards family members.I've always done my best to stick up for the maginalised and down-trodden in society and I always will.My arms are open to everyone no matter what.We're all humans,we're all trying to make it through life as best we can,why make it more difficult for those that are already finding it difficult enough? @tyghebright @sfleetucker
