We're one week until the Midterm Elections. There have been many theories about why the youth vote doesn't turn out. I heard from:

-the politicians
-enthusiasm
-don't have time to vote
-chaos (Want everything one size fits all)

I want to hear from you why this is the case and if you're 25 or under, I want to hear your reason.

@tracytran
I hang out with a lot of 15-25 year olds. The 18+ yo ones I know do vote!

Generally, though? They think voting is boring. They also think government is boring, and is done by impossibly ancient people.

(I mean... they're not completely wrong about that last part...)

That's what it boils down to -- within a spectrum, of course, and the younger people are, the more boring they tend to think voting is.

Government *should* be boring, if it's done correctly.

@janallmac I saw a TikTok where a teacher showed the movie "Coco" and the kids were bored by the movie (IDK why) but they prefer TikToks and YouTube shorts for their entertainment. Your theory on government is boring is a good theory.

I guess out of the 365/366 days of the year, these people want to be excited about something every day.

@tracytran
My son told me he thought it was boring.

He's a great kid -- most people his age are really good people. They are inexperienced, though, often.

Here's the thing, IMO:
You have to meet people where they are. You have to!

I think too often politicians don't or can't do that.

@janallmac I think that's a fair assessment. I wish more politicians go to colleges or even try gaming and talking to people. I still remember Biden playing Super Mario Kart in the Presidential election and thought that was cool to have a moment with his grandkids.
