Remembered the time I went into a gardening supply store looking for sustainable soil with no peat, and the dude said, "Why bother, peat is sustainable, they only take a handful."

Thought I'd do a PSA that in order to get to that "handful" of peat, they pull away 6 feet of the bog above, and the mosses grow very slowly. Also, that bog is a huge carbon sink, and it's too hot for that shit right now.

Listless on the breeze
Beneath birds’ wing
Love flutters
More like a butterfly
Casual in its aimlessness
It wanders into the branches
Of a sycamore tree
Perched right
Outside the window

Well within a glance
It idles, wings breathing
In the sunlight

Waiting
On the other side
Of in between
The glass

Just outside this room.

@AskTheDevil They hate that term, too.

I'll admit, I have a visceral reaction of pain when I see a gender expansive person assert "it/its" pronouns, but that's a choice that person gets to make, and it's not for me to say whether they get to do it or not.

Feeling uncomfortable about something that doesn't affect me and isn't an issue of harm to others is always a sign to me that I need to interrogate *why* I'm uncomfortable.

That's, y'know, Doing the Work :)

Just gave her the sniff test (some Sarracenia flowers smell like cat pee), and she smells sweet, almost rose like :). I can't wait to meet her seedlings.

Poor Celia is looking scraggly, I divided her and then Romeo ate four of her remaining pitchers. But, she's showing me her flowers will have lots of color, even when her leaves are still green from dormancy :).

Occasionally, I remember helping to build the movie theater I worked at with a close female friend, and when we set up the speakers behind the screen. The guys told us to hold the walkie talkies while they moved the speakers, two men to each speaker. We watched them leave the room, looked at each other without speaking, opened our hands at the same time to drop the mikes, then each one of us grabbed a single speaker and carried it all by ourselves past the men as they returned. Then I laugh.

I saw these this morning they made for an interesting pattern on our roof windows. ❄️

Oh! And I can root some of the cuttings, then slip them into the bowls of seeds I sprout for them to forage in! Then the birds will freshen the air every time they try to find hidden seeds and nibble on sprouts!

Now I have the birds, I can't use incense or oils to freshen the air, which is a massive bummer for me. I enjoy a nice rose scent. I also had to get rid of the miniature rose, so the birds don't land on it. However, I just pruned my mint and realized I can pinch a few leaves off after dinner to freshen the air a bit after cooking. Bonus, nibbling the mint will help curb my sweets cravings and give me a burst of the scent pleasure I like. I need more herbs. I have a couple, I need all of them.

Just out of curiosity...

How many other SM platform owners invite the entire user base to their "apartment" to watch a movie?

Anyone else see the problem with the plan...?

"The parrots are a fount of foul language. Their habit of spouting curse words..has mortified and amused the people who work with them at the Lincolnshire Wildlife Park in Friskney, England.

Now the family friendly animal park is trying a new plan it hopes will tame the parrots' salty language. It's integrating them into a larger flock, where they will "hopefully learn all the nicer sounds and words," Steve Nichols, the park's CEO, told NPR."

Saw this online and thought it was funny so I'm sharing it here,

I present... Schrodinger's Cat.
