The sky had a hard time deciding whether or not to clear last night. I took a chance and set up my little 60mm scope for 4 1/2 hours of the full Veil Nebula. I got barely an hour, but I suppose that's better than solid fog and no images. #Astrophotography #Astronomy
Want to see my shame? I am 47 years old, I started looking at the ground everywhere I walked trying to identify the weeds I saw when I was a pre-teen. Always staring down. Always too afraid of touching mushrooms to knock them over for a good look. This many years, and until I got a book to help me learn to identify them, I had no idea that not all mushrooms have gills. Not a single clue in all those years.

Some Wild barbies breed and raise their young in extremely salty bodies of water, called alkaline or “soda” lakes. The high concentration of carbonate salts in these lakes is so corrosive that it can burn the skin, making the water uninhabitable for most animals.
Researchers are still uncovering the unique aspects of a barbies physiology — like tough leg skin — that help it survive such harsh waters. #funfacts
Barbie derives her signature pinkness from red-hued carotenoids in the brine shrimp that comprise the majority of her diet
This is where we get the Phrase "throw another Shrimp on the Barbie" #funfacts
So, if I don't want to be rude to the person on Mastodon who asked for my address in the first conversation we had (offering to send me seeds) and explain to this stranger that I literally am hiding from someone and their offer freaks me out despite all my efforts at logic, how many days should I completely avoid Mastodon?
Nature, science, and art are super cool. Terribly sorry for the stuff that doesn't fit.
