Folks, just a reminder... "Barely holding it together" is *still* "holding it together".

You got this!! I believe in you!

The chance of rain passed, no rain fell. We heard thunder. The wind shakes the trees. The ground looks as dry as it does in summer. I'll have to water, I can't trust the skies. The promise of rain passes again, unfulfilled.

Purple pitcher plants do not start off purple. Deeper colors develop in sunlight through the year. At first, before the color spreads, the pigment on the veins looks like flames airbrushed on the side of a hot rod, zoom zoom.

I miss the fashion of early 2020, when proper masking wasn't always available, so it was totally cool to walk around in a bandanna like a Wild West bandit stopping a train. My favorite one was Caribbean blue with flamingos.

Looking at news of a drought, wildfire potential for my area. Looking at the skies, and seeing something I've been seeing since April, when the rain should have started falling. Cloudy skies, the promise of rain, and only the slightest chance of it falling for a few minutes, maybe, right around sunset. It's not hitting the dewpoint. It's too hot. The water is in the area, it will not fall. I bet we get blizzards this winter, and some will say that is proof everything is fine.

FINE I will delete my bitchy post quickly before anyone sees it, WHATEVER.

We have Disney, Dolly Parton, George Clooney, Stephen King, Yoyo Ma, Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus, George Lucas, Mark Hamill, Frank Oz, Budweiser, The Department of Defense, the Consitution of the United States, Sesame Street, Bill Murray, Brian Cranston, Cher, Diana Ross, Smokey Robinson, Jack Black, Kiefer Sutherland, Robert DeNiro, Dave Chapelle, Al Pacino, Scarlet Johansen, Meryl Streep, Dustin Hoffman, Jane Fonda, and many, many more.

So when and where did you wanna have this culture war?

This is an interesting spin. I wonder what xenophobic Republicans would think about their beloved assault weapons if they knew the guns we make here skip over our community and head straight to Mexico.

"“Many people trying to cross the border legally are applying for asylum, in hopes of escaping the violence. Others are crossing illegally. But the violence that they are fleeing is made possible by the guns that Americans have made,” she said."

Alt continued:

I look for the forest in your eyes. I see myself reflected there, under the shadows of your lashes, like bars of a cage. You murmur of love, of the kindness you will show as you take care of me.

Alt continued: They are made from folded paper. I open one, numbers dance across it, synchronized, flowing along the outline of trees that fall and crumble into more paper. They dance in patterns that comfort me, and still I shiver.

I shiver as you whisper words of agreement and understanding, words that fall shiny from your lips, words that shatter as they tumble, crackling like thin ice, sparkling like diamond dust.

A bit of writing I did a while ago. It was going to open a horror novel, but the plot I came up with was too dark for me to write.
