The kid and I are going to be using natural pigments to paint on rocks (sandstone) while watching whatever I can find about cave paintings, in specific so it can wear off and I'm super excited about it because I get to teach this lesson, "Use this as a chance to demonstrate how fragile these creations can be, how amazing that there are remnants existing from when we first evolved, and how important it can be to protect such artifacts, because when they are gone, they are gone forever."
@thewebrecluse @RealSeanBrodrick man a kindness bot sounds kinda nice to deploy on the internet on a platform may make people happy π
Today I appreciate my self-awareness, because after the second time of putting up my #guitar for months, I made a cheat sheet designed to help me pick up practice after forever. Thank you, past me, now maybe we can finally figure this thing out.
βI vividly remember the first time I heard, βWhere Have All the Flowers Gone?β I was a child at the beginning of the song and by the it was over, I was an adult. It was a coming-of-age novel in one damn song.β

My body was built from my parent's genes
But my life was built from moments.
Filled with slices of time they shared,
A mozaic pieced from fragments.
My smile they say is from my dad
but my laugh is from my mother.
My taste in music's from them both.
I'm as stubborn as my brother.
When I look into the mirror
I see my parents eyes
They gave their hearts to fashion me.
I hope to be as wise.
I don't know why people are using words like "unimaginable", and "shock" at the shooting. It happens somewhere every day in the country. How can it be unimaginable?
Once upon a time as a teenager, a friend and I did not stand for the pledge in protest. The next class was dedicated to an hour's lecture on how criticizing the government in any way disrespects soldiers who died for our freedom. I wish I could tell him how very much I think of him every time I hear they do not do a pledge in other free countries, that we are perceived as brainwashing in doing so. Sometimes attempting to control the beliefs of others backfires.
I don't mind people disagreeing with me. I'm not right about everything, and I appreciate being shown when I'm wrong.
But if you actually want to convince me that I'm wrong about something, I need to see (a) a coherent counterclaim and (b) evidence that it does a better job of explaining things than my assertion.
Personal attacks, taunts, insults, stereotypes, and suggestions that I have sinister ulterior motives are not any of that and won't lead to a constructive discussion.
If something you read makes you feel good about being angry, it was written to make you feel that way.

Yup, and children will starve, especially without the free lunch programs at school that the GQP also wants to get rid of. Instead of dealing with the backlash of getting rid of the program, it will be severely cut by reducing snap eligibility, since that's one of the requirements for receiving free lunch.
Yet, here I am in my blue state where every kid, no matter the income of the family, is still receiving free school breakfast & lunch π€·ββοΈ
So I said I'd do a deep dive on what is being reported in terms of #COVID19 statistics. Here is what I found:
Before 2023, 8 states were either no longer reporting or reporting greatly suppressed numbers. As of now that number is 18:
Alabama
Alaska
Arkansas
Florida
Georgia
Idaho
Indiana
Iowa
Kentucky
Liousiana
Mississippi
Montana
North Carolina
North Dakota
South Carolina
South Dakota
Tennessee
Virginia
#COVID right now is as bad as it's ever been. It's just that no one is telling you so.
Nature, science, and art are super cool. Terribly sorry for the stuff that doesn't fit.
