Maize, is rich in symbolic meaning across cultures. It represents abundance, fertility, and the life cycle. it embodies unity in diversity and as a staple food, it symbolizes sustenance and the vital role of agriculture in communities. Additionally, it signifies cyclical patterns in life, emphasizing the eternal cycle of nature. Gotta give a shout out to my wife, @ShazzaRazza who's spent all day making these amazing paper craft #Halloween deccies. The bat tree almost drove her mad, but that witch (that she's sending to my Mum) is gorgeous 🖤 🦇 🎃
Some years ago some old friends of mine decided to quit their original band that was just playing pub & local venues and formed a #Beatles tribute, named The Mersey Beatles (they actually supported my band before doing covers and now my keyboard player plays keys with them). They've ended up traveling around the world doing this and have had some great times.
Last night they played one of their biggest gigs, to 20,000 people in our hometown of #Liverpool. ❤️
By the way, a word about Bob. Bob is no mere Halloween decoration. They are a replica. A look at their teeth shows this is the casting of someone who has donated their body for art and science, to educate us, to give us something to hold of the true structure within us. I love that Bob will celebrate Halloween with me. I should put candy in their mouth.
2/2 She was found growing in a gallon of live red/purple sphagnum moss, which also deepens in strong light. Mine is still green. Most of it died during the various setbacks of the last couple of years, but a few growing crowns will hopefully establish with my improved setup. The quartz marks a special clump of moss, a pinch of haircap moss from Walden pond.
As promised, a better photo exploration of Celia. Let me show you why I occasionally give her a little kiss. She is an open pollinated hybrid, mostly veinless, though her smaller (older) pitchers are developing some veins as they deepen to the hues of autumn leaves. The mostly green leaves are ones that developed during periods of poor lighting, but the spring green has a nice golden tone that is still lovely. 1/2
