I just searched for "veinless pitcher plant" and the only thing I found as pretty as Celia was the Ghost cultivar, so I'm feeling fairly smug.

By the way, today I was late for an appointment to get my social security card replaced so I can job hunt properly, but the nice lady next to the person I was scheduled with said if they didn't return, she would take me, and she fixed the fact that my appointment was cancelled, and hooked me up. Shout out to kind people.

When I gathered moss, this was the leftovers. This was bits of moss where the growing conditions were poor, they were dried up in the clay around trees bare of mulch in parking lots. I rinsed them off and they've had light and water for a couple of days. One of them seems to be a species I don't remember seeing locally. Looks kind of like shag carpeting. it will be interesting to watch it grow.

I am one of those flies drawn to stinky fruit.

I would like to take a moment to give gratitude for the existence of durian fruit. Nature had a niche for a flavor that was intriguing with a strange tingling on the tongue that resembles modern preservatives, sweet with the lingering hint of a porta-potty in the distance, and durian stepped up and said, "I'll do it." Bless that creamy, delicious, nauseating bastard for filling the evolutionary niche of junk food long before the inspiration hit.

Wait up, someone here helped me build skills to better handle confrontation in public, they posted a link about the dangers of confronting people in public inappropriately and it inspired me to sign up for a webinar from righttobe.org/ who was that? They deserve a shoutout for making an impact. I should go review those notes.

Public exposure therapy epiphany! Spinning in public! The most relaxing thing, a thing that will get interest, I will be forced to talk to people, while doing a thing that makes me chill! I haven't spun in forever, I'm so exited :). Anyone here sell wool? @peeppeepcircus any pointers to a hookup? A hashtag to troll? If not, I can take it to Etsy.

I've certainly noticed the phallic nature of my pitcher plants before, but this is the view from my desk, and I feel like Celia's shrubs need to be pruned.

i should give my plants ppl names like @tippitiwichet does. i was thinking of calling this one Elvis, bc it's part of it's lineage pedigree, but that lipstick tho... i just realized the red lip developed a few days after opening. first 2 pics were taken several days before the last 2.

this is the first pitcher this plant has put up since the Spring Snack Massacre (a la raccoons). it's just been soaking up sun & rain and building energy to produce this monster

Part of what prompted yesterday's moss gathering adventures was due to finding spider mites on my miniature rose. I pruned her very heavily, divided her, rinsed all the soil from her roots, and changed it out. Then I mulched her. Then I went and put some moss on her that may possibly be full of mites, but hopefully there are predatory ones. If not, and I get mites again, I'll just buy some predatory ones and release them. Anyway, she's haunted now.

Yesterday, as soon as the sun went down and I could turn off all the lights to reduce glare, I brought out the tripod and did a better photo exploration of the terrorarium with the new moss from haunted Cherry street.

I feel like I splurged and bought myself the prettiest trinket yesterday, but it's just some crap I scraped up from a parking lot.

It is a drizzly, fantastic day. I explored the supposedly haunted Cherry Street (where the wild west saloons used to be, Cherry was a reference to the ladies, supposedly many spirits from the era have been seen). My goal was moss for the terrorarium. Ages ago I stole some rocks from a murder mansion in Staten Island to use in her cave, so it's haunted. Anyway, look at how that pops so wonderfully with her color!

I've been facing some guilt about spending so much time in meditation, "slacking" and forcing myself to relax. I'm unemployed, there are things I need to be doing. But, I have these contortions I do that get worse around people, and I want to pass a job interview. What I'm doing is supposed to help suppress the spasms, and today, it paid off 😊 . I went out to practice being relaxed in public, and I talked to four people. Zero spasms. That is a massive accomplishment.
