Indoor garden update. While sunflowers tower above the house outdoors, indoors has been flattened. I got tired of trying to maintain microbial diversity and balance while battling spider mites, they were even causing malformed pitcher leaves to come up. Also, my chores are too much for me to handle right now, so everything was plowed down, my soil was sanitized in the oven, and my collection of pots was cut in half. The extra room was filled with decorations, and fairy lights were added :).

Good morning, CoSo!

If you can only win a contest by cheating, your win doesn't mean anything.

If you can only believe something by telling yourself lies, your belief is without foundation.

If you can only affirm your self-worth by committing acts of violence, you have denied your own worth.

Every false act used to attain a worthwhile goal nullifies the goal itself in the attempt to achieve it.

@AskTheDevil @DavidSalo At the same time, they think that getting this prize by not following the rules is the intelligent thing to do, that it's what everyone does and the ones who play by the rules "don't get it" and cheating is the real way people play the game. Therefore, they are better than you even though they don't care about the skill aspects of the game.

@DavidSalo I've often been confused by people who cheat to "win" in that if you cheated, you don't really know whether you could have won (or you cheat because you know you can't win). A sensible person would think "I haven't really accomplished what I set out to do".

But the thing is, the cheaters aren't trying to win the contest, they're trying to take the _prize_. They don't care whether they are right or better at something, they care about taking the goodie basket and award statue.

Sifting through old photos, ran across when NYC surprised me. I pictured concrete and glass, angry people. Instead I found the old growth forest underneath, abandoned mansions swallowed by vines and headstones washed clean by time. Neighborhood was quiet, lined with trees, chipmunks in the backyard. I often pictured Poe listening to the sound of wolves out of his window. Art littered the walls more than trash on the ground, and cheerful bodega owners helped me find black market goods.

How do we fight psychological propaganda.
Example: Todays headline: Trump speaks at largest church in Detroit seaking to expand his African American. I was disappointed and saddened at the headline and article. It had no pictures.

Later I come across a photo of the event in which there are few people of color at the event. No one from the congregation attended, not even the pastor. THAT wasnt reported.

Happy Father’s Day to all the coso dads!

Songs of the past bring back all kinds of memories... Often the songs I didn't like or was just sick of hearing them over and over on the radio... I like now bc through them I can travel back to places and time that no longer exist.

"You're a ghost driving a meat-coated skeleton made from stardust, riding a rock, hurtling through space."

With that, guten nacht ~
