I was setting up some more mouse traps in the garage, a little bit ago. As I set the first one down and moved to rise and turn away, I heard a snap.

I thought I must have jostled it or not set it right, and turned back to fix it.

Nope. A mouse had run straight into it.

@AskTheDevil I need about 400 mouse traps of one sort or another.

@poemblaze I've laid out 20. I do not enjoy the round of checking for bodies.

Any time I get myself worked up and think it's time to hoist the jolly roger or collect heads, I remember that I get all choked up if I kill a mouse.

@AskTheDevil @poemblaze Joe and I had to learn to toughen up after we got too lax. A female moved in and would graze the toddler's crumbs in the carpet in front of the tv while we cuddled on the couch and cooed about how cute she was and was she pregnant? She looked pregnant.... It got pretty bad for a while. Poor cuties.

Try burning a ton of peppermint candles and putting the essential oil in the corners where mice like to be. It seems to help.

@tippitiwichet @AskTheDevil One of the ones I've gotten was pregnant. Made me worry about how many pregnancies I've not known about.

@poemblaze @tippitiwichet Mice can churn out a _lot_ of baby mice. They gestate and recover really quickly. People talk about bunnies breeding, but mice have it down to a science.

@tippitiwichet @poemblaze We've been trying to avoid the mint, because most of us are sensitive to smells, too.

But I'd rather be minty and mouseless.

RE: Cute preggers mousie. Yeah... "Cute" is a survival trait for some species. I can relate, but learned long ago that pregnant mice mean "disease and ruin in your home" not "cute". : (
