It hardly ever gets really hot where I live...
But my tip for cooling off.
Fluffy kitchen sized towel, soaking wet. Twisted long wise, into a rope, then shaped to a circle.
Then frozen in freezer.
Wrapped tight around neck.
Keep three in freezer. And exchange as needed.
@corlin Great tip! I used to do similar things when I rode my bike to work in 104°F temps (7 miles). I'd get my shirt wet and freeze it for a few minutes while I got ready to go, then put it on as I was walking out the door. Combined with almost solid ice in my water bottle (an inch of space at the top for just a little water because I'll want a sip before too much has melted) and pouring ice water over my hair, I stopped getting dizzy on trips.
@corlin I miss the days when you could bounce a quarter off my ass.
@LnzyHou @corlin My roomate used to complain at how quickly I had managed to lose a bunch of weight after I 'd moved in, and we were eating the same diet. I kept telling her to give me her car, I'd give her my bike, problem solved. I had to be duly motivated to work that hard though, that was 14 miles every work day.
@tippitiwichet @corlin
Exercise is critically important.
Not getting my walk today, means my back hurts.
One day off.
