Another show is annoying me with "oh, I don't think I could marry a cop". Television loves to make it look like it's because of their hours and threats to their life. The domestic violence shelter taught me it's because when you run, they will use their badge to find you. They had to have a system in place to help women hide, and it didn't always work. They can never stop running.
And something like 40% of cops are abusive to their families. So not only are abusive cops particularly hard to escape, cops in general are WAY more likely to be abusive.
Save your life, don’t fuck a cop.
The worst thing about that 40% number is that it represents the number of cops willing to admit they were abusive. I'm willing to bet the actual number is higher.
