The stuff that happens when you teach in a music store - had a nice chat with Wanda King (daughter of Freddie) today - sweet lady!

Miss Morgan has arrived (yesterday) - grandbaby number holy crap that many? Mom Amber and baby are fine, Executive Producer is there seeing to the siblings and sending updates.

Excuse me, but no --
(and I'm not sure about the "from Earth," either)

Someday, there will be another Mavericks team that can shoot free throws....

Spotify are fecking crooks.
Please listen, but please listen anywhere else.

Why do I get the feeling the people out to put Crystal Mason back in jail will let this guy slide?
Couldn't be the sign on the door...

Executive Producer is away on Grandma duty, so Toots is handling domestic goddess responsibilities for a few days...

DFW area 'nauts - tonight I'm playing at Four Bullets Brewery in Richardson - local craft beers and local craft songs under the stars on a nice night for a patio show!
The 12 string fires up at 7pm~

@Museek
Over the weekend the vultures got into the presidential palace by pecking through the screens on the balcony windows and the flapping of their wings stirred up the stagnant time inside, and at dawn on Monday the city awoke out of its lethargy of centuries with the warm, soft breeze of a great man dead and rotting grandeur.
And then the dragons arrived.

I'm stunned and feel a little sick about this news. Albini beginning with Big Black and then Shellac and his break through production for the incredible Jesus Lizard, not to mention Nirvana, The Wedding Present, Pixies, PJ Harvey and so many other bands I'm forgetting at the moment...

Yup, NYT continues to prove its relevance by having Ross Douthat, Certified Moral Arbiter, weigh in on Taylor Swift....

Powerfully emetic stuff, there.

Can't believe KXT DJ just jumped on and babbled over one of the great outros of all time - Graham Maby's lovely soliloquy at the end of "It's Different for Girls" argh...

@tgraph52 No disrespect! Yours is an absolutely appropriate perspective. I think musicking is for everyone to do (I spent 25+ directing amateur choirs, and teach ~45 students a week). I was more addressing the "I'm being driven from music" posts out there - if you can survive doing something else, please do, and please enjoy making music, as well. But some cannot survive without music at the center (when I thought I had to try, it didn't go well....).

Okay, here's the hot, probably unpopular, certain to rile somebody, take:
There is a difference between someone with talent, skill and love for music and someone who has been called by music. The former will do their best to make a life with music, but if success doesn't come, will walk away. The latter will find a way to make some kind of music-centered life, regardless of income level or "success."

A lot of babble on various socials about throwing up hands and walking away. Some of us can't.
