If you were invited to a gathering of all the world's most influential leaders, and you were tasked with naming one core value for all of humanity to adopt, what would you tell them?
@sumpnlikefaith empathy.
@singlemaltgirl @sumpnlikefaith
Empathy is my vote, too. I think leaders would make better choices if they were highly empathetic.
@evistre @singlemaltgirl It seems like the instant people become leaders, they are susceptible to losing touch...assuming they were ever in touch.
Keeping leaders connected to their empathy is a necessary ingredient in our collective morality.
Human Individualism is a myth !
Interdependence is the fact of all that humans do.
(or something like that)
@corlin Mutuality! I've been thinking about a bunch about this specific thing.
Humans are unhealthily co-dependent in some areas, and totally oblivious to intrinsic dependence in others...aren't we strange?
“Would you hit your left hand with a hammer, to make your right hand feel better! Just as your left hand is connected to your right hand, so all of us are deeply connected.”

@corlin A spiritual mentor of mine talks about separation sickness in broad, expansive terms.
It describes so much to me.
@sumpnlikefaith Kindness.
@sumpnlikefaith Compassion, I think
@Pat_Walrond I think so, too!
@sumpnlikefaith inclusivity
@NorCalCherylLyn Oh! I'd love to have you flesh this out! What would this look like, in either general or specific terms?
@sumpnlikefaith idk…everyone being accepted for who and how they are. I guess it would encompass the other replies like kindness, empathy, for all. With acceptance and inclusiveness lots of adult problems wouldn’t develop. I’d hope our violence problems would diminish greatly.
@NorCalCherylLyn Yes, this is why your answer struck me in a unique way -- it's like a collective noun of all those other things.
I appreciate the idea/ideal of equality or equity, but my gut tells me that inclusivity embodies a sense of an enlarged invitation and welcome that some of those other words only hint at.
@sumpnlikefaith I would agree. It’ll take a lot more words being put into action everywhere to bear the fruit we’re wanting.
@NorCalCherylLyn Yes...and may it be so!
@sumpnlikefaith Equality
@sumpnlikefaith Kindness
@sumpnlikefaith tolerance
@sumpnlikefaith Compassion
