Stuey's Law:
Everybody should be provided with and given free lessons to learn to play a musical instrument.
Reasoning:
EVERYONE should be given the opportunity to express themselves through making music, for the betterment of society as a whole and individual wellbeing.
@CinnamonGirlE
Ah but the truth is you *are* musical.
It's innate in all humans. That's why music touches our souls more profoundly than any language. This "law" of mine would enable folk to discover this truth for themselves.
If you can tap your feet, you have rhythm.
If you can sing happy birthday to a friend, even badly, you have musicality.
If hearing music can make you feel happy or sad, you have soul.
You simply haven't found *your* instrument. ❤️

In those ways I do. Music is everything. Transcendental. I can't play an instrument, but according to you I have rhythm, soul and musicality. I am happy with it. It brings me joy. ❤️

Thank you Stuey. That's exactly right. I've tried for years to play and my stubbornness for perfection gets in the way and so I don't try anymore - fuck! I tap the steering wheel. I sing in the shower. Last night I opened an iPad and found some music app and noodled around on a keyboard with all the different settings. Oh boy that was fun! Even if it wasnt a song. It was my music for the moment.
@CinnamonGirlE @stueytheround @CriticalCupcake
The hell it's not even my perfection its my attention deficit. I can't follow along in a whole song.
@FireMonkey @stueytheround @CriticalCupcake
Attention is more of an issue for me these days, lol.
@FireMonkey This is the way.
There's a quote I see now and again which goes something like "Be brave enough to suck at something you enjoy doing."
@FireMonkey @CinnamonGirlE @stueytheround @CriticalCupcake
Do you own an iPad?
Two of my favorite music making apps for the iPad are:
Animoog & Audiokit Synth One
BTW these are extremely cheap.
Major update to Animoog
https://cdm.link/2021/11/gen-z-moog-reimagines-their-software-instrument-as-animoog-z/
And
https://audiokitpro.com/synth/
"SuperNessynth"
Cheap at $3.00.
Kick out a bunch of those retro jams.

Here's a law that would make the world a better place: All U.S. citizens, upon reaching twenty years of age, shall be required to stay in a randomly selected country, plus live among and interact with the local citizens of that region, as a civilian, for a minimum of at least six months.
@grayman I like it. @CinnamonGirlE @CriticalCupcake

Excellent! I was with a kid the other day, 22, had never left the county we live in. Seeing other people and other places is a huge education in itself.
@stueytheround @CriticalCupcake
This would make the world a better place for sure. I am sadly not musical. I so admire those who can coax music from an instrument. You guys rock, literally.
