@Madken65 @stueytheround Sorry you had a bad night Stuey π€
Ken - I hope you are not spinning The Beatles based on it being Ringo's birthday - he is the one that can sing the worst after all. π
Ringo was a bad replacement for Sharkey, other than being a good foil for the rest of the lads.
But yes, I was spinning them because it was his birthday.
I am comfortable with allowing him to remain a drummer, not all of us can sing.

Oh, I don't know, I still enjoy solos, for me, it depends on how they integrate with the fullness of the song...
@stueytheround You have to understand I live with a Beatles fanatic. He tends to have all the solo stuff by them too To be specific he worships at the alter of George Harrison (my husband used to deliver milk as a kid to Friar Park). But there are two things I will never cope with listening to. 1 is the solo stuff by Ringo (I give you early 1970 and devil woman) and the other is the stuff he has by Yoko Ono. (I give you her screeching voice and toilet piece as examples).
@Mandypar @stueytheround @Madken65 Oh my! I love George too BTW, your lucky hubby! My condolences if you have to listen to Yoko screech... I haven't heard Who Has Seen The Wind since the 70's but I can STILL hear it in my head. Why do I forget important stuff but can replay Yoko?
@stueytheround
Glad to hear that! I really love Ringo's beats!
I'm a big Zep fan & have seen them live often... love Bonham but his showy protracted drum solos were always a bit much.
