I'm suffering full withdrawal symptoms from Nicole Wallace's vacation.

I know. you need time off Nicole, but please come back soon!.

@Maude
Yeah. He's one taco short of a combination plate.

I'm tired of hearing how unprecedented it is to indict a former president. What is unprecedented is to have a former president who is a lying criminal.

@CarmenSlamdiego
Ok, I can see that possibility. It would make some sense, I guess. But I wonder if the risk is that much larger than for any number of other very senior govt. officials (i.e. Generals, Cabinet Sectys, etc.).

When people who know secret stuff leave the gov. they may be a target. But it doesn't scale for Secret Service protection for all. IMHO we need to stop treating Presidents like US royalty. But. your point it well taken.

I don't know what the reasoning was for the 1965 law (Public Law 89-186) requiring Secret Service protection for former Presidents and their spouses. But I say it should be reexamined.

A repeal of that 1965 law seems in order. Whether former Presidents retire to the comfort of their porches or land up in jail, we should make it clear that they are private citizens after leaving office.

@VelvetDuchess
Ohh, I'm sorry I missed that. There's a difference of about 50 points of political intelligence between them. ๐Ÿ‘

@ArcturusSaDiablo
Well, if they aren't, they should be. It's their best legal strategy.

I claim no special knowledge or insight. But I feel a reckoning coming for America.

This man Trump and his minions must be dealt with. They must be swept aside. Law and order must be respected. And many weak points in our federal law and Constitution must be repaired.

The moment calls for courage, integrity, and morality. We're going to find who has it and who does not.

It's like "Judgement Day" in the Terminator movies. It can't be avoided.

The DC press circus in un-freaking-real. The indictment was newsworthy, an arraignment maybe gets a sentence, as in it happened.

Alright. I didn't quite make it two hours. But after a Corona and a bowl of Cherry Cavendish, I feel much better.

Ok. Time for me to take a couple of hours to center my emotions. These are tough times for idealists like me, and many of you.

Come on MSNBC. ๐Ÿ˜  Interrupting a respected lawyer whom you have questioned on TV in order to get a gratuitous, meaningless glimpse of Trump walking to his plane, is WAY unprofessional and embarrassing.

We really need the Media to step up now and stop articulating Trump's narrative. Stop pretending there is any world in which he didn't know he lost the election. That's ridiculous.

He's not guilty until the jury votes. But there is no credible legal defense. He is attempting delay until he hopes he will win the coming election.

The delusional 30% of our electorate will not be enough to secure that win.

This man Trump is all-in for challenging the fundamental values of our American democracy.

His only defense of the recent charges is to succeed in overthrowing Democracy, which he narrowly failed to do in 2020.

At this very moment he's working hard to do so. We, who value truth, morality and the law, must stand up and stop him.
