TIL "Office Space" came out in 1999, and references to that movie will not necessarily resonate with younger staff. Because they were toddlers at the time.

In other news, I'm going to go lay down and ponder the pitiless, inexorable march of time for a while.

The moon is full,
though hearts are empty
A cloudless sky,
seen through storms of tears
A song, remembered,
blossoms through the sorrows
A gentle touch,
which banishes your fears

TIL that the "Zoot Suit Riot" actually happened in the mid-20th century and was not, in fact, just a jazzy song from a couple decades ago.

What's the best game you ever impulse-bought on Steam without reading any reviews or doing any research beforehand?

For me, it's Graveyard Keeper. 10/10, would lose 60 hours of my life to play it for the first time again if I could.

Writers: heed my call! I've written some characters I had wanted to keep into a corner and I don't know how to get them out of it. Opinions, please!

After I am gone
How will I be remembered?
Landmines of the mind

Recently on the bird site, Alanis Morissette boosted a fan's joke lyrics to a hypothetical parody of one of her songs ("You Oughta Mow"), and Weird Al jumped into the conversation with a friendly "stay in your lane!"

That's the most wholesome content I've seen on the bird site in a very long time.

You gain a passive power. Which would you prefer?

I'm not sure where I saw this, but every time I see it it makes me smile.

Close your eyes and breathe
Focused outrage steadies hands
Awaken and act

If you've ever wondered how the person in the Big Bird costume can see, don't Google it. Take it from me, it is better left a mystery.

I've never understood the fixation on the price of gas. $2 a gallon, $6 a gallon, who cares? What's really breaking your budget isn't gas, it's rent. Let's focus on that.

If you're looking for a couple hours of solid story-driven gameplay on mobile, I very much enjoyed Dr. Chatelet: Faith. It'll cost you about four bucks to play through it, and in the process you'll learn a lot about the concept of orthodox medicine and how it was challenged by science with the invention of the microscope and disinfectants. Pretty cool Burtonesque art, too.

Mistake of the day: watching how many pumps of caramel it takes to make my delicious cup of coffee taste the way it does.

I give you, my masterpiece:

Waking up early
To exercise before work
Sucks sucks sucks sucks sucks

Channel that anger
Into something positive
Something has to change

Too many are dead
Avoidable massacres
We must be better

Just a lil update and follow-up:

Project is complete
Basement is a disaster
Cleaning up can wait

Happy Saturday! Pancakes, coffee, building a work bench in the basement...it's gonna be a good day, and the Muse agrees:

Good morning CoSo
Hammer, nails, and sanded wood
Building something new

@willc I can see it on the firehose. I recommend using hashtags to make sure the communities you're looking to interact with can see them. It's very easy to get lost in the torrent these days without them :)

I've been staring at a blank page that just says "Epilogue" at the top for long enough that I'm now wondering whether one is needed.
