One thing this election truly proves is that the USA has a huge racism and misogyny problem. Not all Americans, sure, but enough to make it an issue that we need to address. We need to, at the very least, acknowledge the problem.

Make a plan.
Plan on what you are going to do if things don't go the way you want them to. Turn off the TV for a bit and start working on how you are going to move forward.

Why?

Because if you have a plan, you will start to feel like you have it covered no matter how things go. You will feel prepared.

Not only that, you will get out of the manufactured panic for a minute. People are making money off of your fear right now.

When you have news organizations calling states for one candidate or the other with less than half of the votes actually counted, you have a manufactured media horse race. If that is your thing, then cool and all. Maybe wait until votes are counted before deciding the world has ended.

Freeze your credit.

It is free and relatively easy to do. You will need to create an account on each of the 3 major credit reporting agencies, but outside of that, it is easy to freeze it once the account exists.

Stop identity theft before it can happen. It is irritating, but necessary. You can unfreeze it at any time.

Every media company is going to try to keep you engaged as hard as they can as the advertising dollars it generates will drive their company for months. They will tell you it is the end of the world if it means you clicking their article and being served their menu of ads.

It is going to be ok.
