"Far more Democrats will sit out if Joe Biden suddenly drops out than will if he remains. This is a simple fact. We are not going to "speed date" a Presidential nominee less than120 days from the election. Stop the insanity." - Don Winslow

@elbutterfield Then the Democrats need to prepare to lose and lose big. Joe should have kept his word and bowed out after one term.

@MidnightRider I agree with David Jolly on this particular point. "With news of a Biden withdrawal growing nigh, victorious Washington Dems are risking a serious miscalculation. The loyal members of the pro-democracy Biden-led coalition who are not and will likely never be Democrats didn't sign up for Dem machinery politics."

@elbutterfield Every Democrat signs up for that machinery. Here I will shock you even more, Adam Kinzinger should cross party lines and run against Trump.

@MidnightRider @elbutterfield The primaries have already been run. People already voted for Biden and Harris in the primaries. To change the ticket now would be discarding the votes and will of all of the people who voted for Biden / Harris in the primary. You can't just tell a bunch of voters that their votes don't count and that your opinion is more important than their votes. That is a dictatorship. Stop falling for a scheme by Thiel backed donors. This is ridiculous.

@sirgeefive
Agreed, and worse than that this public sabotaging is a sign of complete weakness, if any push should be made it should be private, and every single person suggesting it should have a ready candidate suggestion and polling for that candidate Vs T, they should all privately discuss it and never say a word publicly, because in politics, only weak losers publicly do circular firing squads shooting their winning candidate in the face to Repub glee.
@MidnightRider @elbutterfield

@sirgeefive
Republicans are loving this. And the bad part about that is, polling is consistently inaccurate and Biden has a very motivated Dem base that is busting their hump for him, and a solidly determined majority vote, regardless of polls. Dems have been avoiding polls since R's started using "hacked" (read: purchased or given) poll information to target Dems for either recruitment, or harassment, or hacking, or dial up phone scams, or intimidation.
@MidnightRider @elbutterfield

@sirgeefive I’m not falling for anything, I’ve seen people before Joe deny their decline, one I loved.

@MidnightRider I beg to differ. Any amount of rudimentary research would show you that the primaries have already been completed. Your idea of Biden's decline is based purely off of what you are seeing on social media and in the MSM, in my opinion. You are repeating precisely the same talking points, using precisely the same verbiage. I don't mean to be rude, but your opinion does not override my vote.

@sirgeefive I would never want to override anyone’s vote, just like I’m confident you would not want to override my opinion. PS It’s moot now

@MidnightRider I respect the fact that you, like every other sentient being forms opinions. It is the same as I feel about beliefs. I don't have to agree with them, nor do I have to hold my tongue when they offend my likewise formed opinions and beliefs.
